Ian Peter

Ian Peter was a pioneer in providing Internet services to Australia and the Asia Pacific region. As a Founder of Pegasus Networks (1988) and the Association for Progressive Communications (1989), Ian Peter has been involved with First Monday since its inception.

Ian Peter is also an Associate of the Centre for International Research on Communications and Information Technologies, a Foundation Member of the Internet Society in Australia, and Principal of an Internet business consulting organisation. Clients have included international telcos, government ministers and departments, United Nations organisations, and community-based organisations and lobby groups.

He works from Brisbane Australia and considers chess games online to be the Internet's killer app.
