The Editorial Office of First Monday is operated by the Chief Editor, Edward J. Valauskas, in Chicago. The Office, at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), welcomes your questions, comments, and manuscripts. The First Monday server is physically located at the UIC University Library as part of UIC’s Great Cities Initiative.

Articles must be submitted to the Editorial Office. Details on the preparation of manuscripts can be found in the Guidelines for Authors.

First Monday was originally published by the Danish publisher Munksgaard, an internationally renowned publisher of scientific and medical journals, between May 1996 and December 1998. First Monday was originally designed by Harvey Macaulay at Munksgaard International Publishers in Copenhagen. Edward J. Valauskas, Esther Dyson, and Rishab Aiyer Ghosh purchased First Monday in 1998. Since the January 1999 issue, First Monday has been published in cooperation with the University Library at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
